Derek is super pumped to be back for another summer of awesomeness. His hope is that the Pickleville Workshops will continue to help the next generation of performers develop their skills, become more self-confident, and have the best time ever. Derek has been a part of the Pickleville tradition since birth.  Directorial credits include: Shrek The Musical, Hairspray, The Drowsy Chaperone, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Joseph… Dreamcoat. Pickleville roles include: Shrek in Shrek The Musical, Corny Collins in Hairspray, Robert in The Drowsy Chaperone, Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Smudge in Forever Plaid, Joseph in Joseph... Dreamcoat, Bobby in Crazy For You, Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors, Linus in ...Charlie Brown, Rowdy in The Hanging of El Bandito, and Steven in Who Shot Juanito Bandito. Other credits include: Lucas in Adams Family (HCTO), Charlie in Brigadoon (HCT), and Enjolras in Les Mis (CRT). Derek also performed with the BYU Young ambassadors from 2011-2013, touring to South Africa and China. He served an LDS mission in Laoag, Philippines and is now majoring in Business Management at BYU with an emphasis in entrepreneurship. Derek would like to thank his wife for helping him turn all of his dreams into realities. “Believe you can, and you’re half-way there!”


Whitley couldn't be more excited to continue venture. Whitley has a BFA in Music, Dance, Theater from BYU, years of experience teaching dance, and loves working with kids. She has done choreographic work for Pickleville, The BYU Young Ambassadors, and Diamond Talent Dance Studio. Performing credits include: Christine in Phantom of the Opera and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors both at BYU, Fiona in Shrek The Musical, Penny in Hairsrapy, Wednesday in Adams Family, Janet in The Drowsy Chaperone, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Lila in Bandito Rides Again, Dorcus in Seven Brides..., Narrator in Joseph... Dreamcoat, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.  Whitley performed as a member of the BYU Young ambassadors for three years, touring to Nauvoo, the Southern States and South Africa. She served as dance captain her final year. You may also recognize her from her appearance as the “Butterfly Girl” in the LDS film The Testaments. She recently completed a BFA in Music Dance Theater at BYU. Whitley can’t wait to get to know the kids who will be attending this year’s workshops. “Adventure is out there!”



Luke is ecstatic to be joining the Pickleville Workshops team for another summer! You may have seen him on the piano bench at Pickleville Playhouse during the summer or worked with him as one of the directors at Pickleville Workshops. Luke has a BFA in Music Education from USU and is passionate about sharing his love for music with the next generation of story-tellers. He also enjoys his work as a director and music director for theatrical productions and finds much fulfillment there. Credits include: Director for 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration with Lyric Repertory Company, Music Director for Shrek with Pickleville Playhouse, Music Director for My Fair Lady with Music Theatre West, Music Director for Next to Normal with USU Theatre, Music Director for Singin' in the Rain with Lyric Repertory Company, and many more. Luke loves to travel to really exotic places like NYC and Tooele, and hopes to make it to Disneyland someday. He looks forward to his continued work in music and theatre, and hopes to change the world with beautiful music and honest story-telling.



Kenzie is pumped to be back for another summer with Pickleville Workshops! She is currently a Junior at USU studying FCHD and Psychology, however, in January she will be headed to BYU Hawaii for a semester in the sun. Kenzie finds the most joy in hanging out with her awesome family, teaching High fitness with her sister Sharli, and letting her freak flag fly on the dance floor. She hopes to one day look back on her life and know that she lived every moment to the fullest!


T.J. is best known as the creator of all things “Bandito.” He not only portrays the iconic role in each of the Pickleville’s Bandito productions, but also authored all related scripts and scores. He is also the creative-mind behind all of the Pickleville Christmas shows. In total, he has created over 13 productions. Directorial credits include: the “Bandito” saga, Juanito Bandito's Christmas Carol, Christmas with Juanito Bandito, Annie Get Your Gun, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He also music directed the following: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Forever Plaid, Joseph… Dreamcoat, and many more. When not conjuring up funny bits for the next big show, you’ll find T.J. hanging out with his really awesome wife Erin and their four boys. He is excited to collaborate with the rest of the team in continuing to make Pickleville Workshops an awesome experience for everyone involved.


Sharli is super excited to be a part of Pickleville Workshops! She has had 15 years of dance training and has spent the last 13 years as both choreographer and performer with PVP. Some of her favorite roles include Sally in ...Charlie Brown, Tess in Crazy For You, and Elenor/Ellie in I Believe in Christmas. Sharli graduated from USU in Elementary Education, taught one year of fifth grade, and is now a busy mother of three beautiful girls. She is married to Andy King. Sharli feels extremely lucky to be a part of such an amazing family and successful business. She is so grateful for the opportunity to work closely with the ones she loves, creating something great for thousands of people to enjoy!
