Josh Musselman
Pianist & Underscore Composer (Hunky Dory)
Josh has been a musician since the age of eight, when he started piano lessons. He began writing his own compositions shortly after, entering his first composition competition at age 11. Josh has continued his musical education since then, competing and placing in many competitions. During his undergraduate in Piano Performance at USU, he twice won the USU Concerto Competition, received awards in several Utah-based piano competitions, and was named the Caine College of the Arts 2018 Talent of the Year in Music. Josh’s education has taken him around the US and Europe, including concerts and tours in California, Washington DC, Great Britain, and Italy. Josh has been the Music Director and Composer for Pickleville Playhouse for over seven years, writing and playing the music for such shows as Juanito Bandito: Love and Death, Shootout at Shadow Mountain, Finding the Fickle Fortune, New Sheriff in Town, and Juandito’s Christmas Carol. He received his masters degree in choral conducting from Utah State University, becoming the third student to graduate from their new program, and had the opportunity it’s to compose and perform with such artists as Jenny Oaks Baker, Alex Boyé, Gentry, Kurt Bestor, Andrea Bocelli, and others. Josh currently teaches choir and music at Fremont High School in Weber County. He couldn’t be happier!
Josh married his wonderful wife Beth Anne early in 2022, and they have been adventuring ever since. They love to travel, play board games, and cook together. They also have one son, Liam, who is now 18 months old, and one child on the way! Josh teaches piano, composition, and bagpipes lessons on the side, and continues to perform in events all over the state.
